The school is part of the Tooele County School District.〔http://www.tooele.k12.ut.us〕 The school mascot is the Mustang. Sports provided at DHS include baseball, track/field, cross-country, golf, volleyball, and basketball. Although the school has a football field on site, it does not have a football program for the students. The school band has won several awards, historically receiving 1st, and 2nd place in state band competitions for 1A school bands. The band is directed by Mr. Nielson. The school works with grades 7 to 12, with the nearby Dugway Elementary School supporting up to 5th grade.
